Hennessey upgrades a Taurus SHO

When I went looking for my first muscle car, I was aiming for a second generation Taurus SHO. It wasn't a huge horsepower making muscle car, especially since it only had a six in it. I was really pumped, the first thing I wanted to do was upgrade the exhaust and put in a K&N filter. But, then I found out those years were easily blowing head gaskets, I was really pissed so I just ended up waiting to buy a 1998 LS1 Camaro Z28.

Though, I ended up getting a real sweet muscle car such as the Z, I always felt I missed out not having to own a cool muscle car such as the SHO. Some won't regard the car as a muscle car even, but I do, if it has power and it's American, I think you can define it as a muscle car.

I was doing some research the other night on the web, thinking about what I was going to write my next article about and found out that Hennessey Performance was revamping the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. I was so happy to see a powerful company such as Hennessey upgrading an underdog such as the SHO.

The upgrades include big turbos and a lot of boost. They are also upgrading the factory exhaust system, air filter, boost controller, boost gauge, intercooler upgrades, and some suspension modifications. The car is slated to become available in late 09′, so check back on namc.us to get updated on the latest information.
