Did you know that GM has its own special facility dedicated to building its highest performaning engine by hand, known as the The GM Performance Build Center? It has been responsible for the development of the supercharged Northstar V8 that was used in the Cadillac STS-V and XLR-V, as well as the dry-sump small-block V8 used in the
Corvette Z06 and
ZR1. Well, things get interesting when Autoblog was invited by GM to tour the facility and see how only one GM engineer built an LS9 for a Corvette ZR1.
An excellent read with great pics can be found on Autoblog
